“Clock In” Series
This art series draws its inspiration from the uninhibited spirit of Robert Rauschenberg's collage work and the dynamic pulse of Nils Frahm's music, 'All Armed'. Rauschenberg's boundless creativity and his energetic use of paint splashes over silkscreen prints compelled me to explore the potential of my urban photos from Japan.
I aimed to capture a muted yet combative vibe reminiscent of 'All Armed', evoking a sense of tension and perpetual movement. To achieve this, I incorporated symmetric lines, creating an almost jarring urban nightmare feel. The relentless drums in Frahm's track echo the constant helicopter sounds I heard in central London, infusing the pieces with a sense of urgency and the endless loop of a rat race.
